Just a quick update.

Right after my FYp presentation in school, i got a job to a small interactive company, workthere for a week. and after which i was being ask to to for an interview with me external examiner from Tribal DDB. Jeff ECD of Tribal DDB. worked there for 3months as freelance interactive media designer, roles are kind of like art director, infact yah, doing art direction job and being mentor by my creative director and acd. all are nice people in there. working hard and changing the world.

Through my fyp project (SKIN Couture's website) i was awarded with a prize of $300 during graduation show. which i spend it without knowing its in my bank account. just like that.

After which school also put my project in a crowbar competition. kind of exciting, why?? cant say.. pretty confidential!

Nxt up, i quit my job 2 weeks before my army enlistment. catch up with some friend. and now.. enlisting tomorrow.

2 weeks, pretty fast but i enjoyed through out.. especially 12 june! a day i will not forget.. somehow i became meaningful to me..

All in all, take care all my friend reading this. now i have a 2nd thought, hello its just enlistment, not going oversea for good right.. haha..

Yess... i will be back in the world real soon. cya all the creative people!!! u die man! haha

Party Week

catching up with my old fren Julie! she's still the the same, except with the thick eye liner on her eyes. catching up with her and we went to Zouk on Wedensday! the funniest thing is that i suppose to get it in for free and i pay for it! So it's free entry for EH! part@Zouck on wed and on the same week another party@Zirca with EH again! we changed plan and headed to Zirca, a concept dance club.

Julie was saying that dont go Zirca u will regret and so.. but it didnt turn out that bad, thanks to the spirited EH people! it's not where you go but the people you hang out with! thanks people you guys are just too amazing!

On saturday, EH ppl wanted to go Zouk, but plan changed and we headed to Zirca, laveen was like, super wanting to go Zouk, and after Zirca @ abt 2am, we went suppers and @ abt 3am we headed to Zouk, by that time, there and then you will see totally wasted people hanging outside, people fighting, shouting .....
we didn't go in, no point going in for just an hour. when they are closing like 5am!

and guess we went, AIRPORT!

Christmas month

just a week before christmas we have our fairytale@chrismas event, all the members really put in alot of afford to dress up and make this event happen!

during the week, we went out shopping almost everyday, with different group of people.

Fashion photography workshop by Ivanho Harlim

Thanks to Noise Singapore, im able to attend the fashion photography workshop by Ivanho Harlim,
I went to the 2nd part of the workshop as soon as i've arrived back in Singapore from Shanghai (this was the next day after arrival), and right after the workshop i've to rush down for service in expo. its like a extremely busy day for me!
Ivanho Harlim picks up where he left off and will go into greater detail on the technical skills required to be a fashion photographer. We learn more about the basic use of a DSLR, the types of cameras and lighting commonly used in fashion photography, and how to develop their own style with those equipment.

how i wish i can have more of such exposure in fashion industry! speaking of which, WHO WANT TO BE MY MODEL for FYP!

so p4 have ended, and i didnt scored well. i tried and put in my best with that in p4.
however, i very glad that i able to apply this idea into commercial use for a campaign.

so what about shanghai, im telling you, shanghai got a beautiful night life!
1stly, JZ club; so i went to JZ club with kate after our suppers in a "hong kong cafe". no longer can kept myself in the house anymore, so i call kate, and here we are JZ!
oh ya, JZ is a jazz bar, very nice and lots of expats.



after a few days, this bar was featured in a tv show. only then i noticed that i actually have a school. JZ school, JZ club, JZ inn and JZ studio..
woo~ so you can learn to sing, learn to play, and stay in their inn. wow! very nice concept though.

Video Production in a huge green screen studio.





For those who don't know what's green screen production is. Basically you can replace the green portion with any scene that u desired.. I did a some editing to show the example...











OK this guy, i must intro; He's movie director and a creative director. He's from WOWWOWTANK Hong kong. a very cool creative company that do alot of video production for ads, His style of production is like mixture of 2D illustration with video.

Can't post more details on the production..

ANYWAY.
I'm really glad to be able to involved in this production, gaining new exposure, meeting new people and eating all the free food!

It's so amazing! cant believe that i actually able to meet Jessica, she brought me around Shanghai, to places like chen huang miao etc.. well.. with her dialect, its easier to bargain.

Dont really have time on the weekdays, our office hour is from 10 to 6.30m however we usually stay untill 7.30pm, to finish up our work!
Btw our office is really nice! u get to see nice cityscape with sunset! will post some office pics next time!

Today shooting was great!!.. i love the lighting conditions. will show you some preview , after i do my editing for my production's development.

I love the pics above, although its a little blur.. but after processed by my "professional editing skill", one word to describe; NICE! haha im kidding.. but i really like it.

YES! and i want to thank Pam for coming all the way down from woodlands to help me with this shoot.. and ofcourse weiming, but he didn't want to shoot leh.. camera shy i think.

Then, Kelly and bing.. we have fun in the studio, it's like a ELLE's magazine model shoot, im really glad the we have alot of fun, although the pics was accidentally deleted, but its ok! next time, we will do it again!

oh my.. today fellowship was hilarious, in my 20years of life on earth. this girl that I've met, was the 1 girl that I've never encounter before, and will never want to.
She can really talk.. talk talk talk and talk and none is listening, then she will ask; why are they not looking at me.

Indeed, she is unique and special in HER OWN WAYS. And you know what, it's so true that light attracts light..
I meant, when everybody is talking about you, you should at lest have a certain feelings about what's happening..
Well she is just too insensitive to her surrounding, not affected by whatever that's happening, and the best part.. still carrying being herself..

I don't know whether it's good or bad, but what i know is that it's not working for sure and never will.

The thing is, once you are told not to do something and you deliberately want to go ahead then it can only have one word to describe; unteachable..

People make mistakes.. some are small and some are BIG mistakes. whatever it my be, we learn from it. some time you need to fail to win! but you don't just keep failing, and don't even get the juice of it. LEARN FROM YOUR MISTAKE FAST, don't waste time on learning some simple things. there are much things to complete in our life time..

I am very disappointed, I thought it might be good, at lest a decent one, or better than the previous. NO! worst.. If you want to be a eagle you don't hang out with a chicken. Thus, be very careful on who you going to spend the rest of your life with, it will either be heaven on earth, or a living hell. So whatever you decided today will determine your tomorrow, think la!

Oh yes! so sean and i went to this Adobe Photoshop World conference at suntec conventional hall.. it was huge. from very early morning tell evening.
They introduce alot of new features of CS3 and CS3 extended. Oh BTW, im using CS3 extended for photoshop, flash, illustrator, Dreamweaver, Idesign and After effect.
In summary, in CS3/extended, u save time because everything can done in very short amount of time, and its cross-platform.

Can you imagine, in photoshop you can actually watch movie ".mov" view 3d. now everything is integrated in Photoshop cs3 extended. and Amazingly, u can turn a 2d into 3d. Hmm.. you really need to see it to understand.!

Tee-shirt Design

Something for my friend birthday! now im a visual com student. "packaging design"

i want to have those! with a 23inch screen, i don't have to worry about all the different palettes in photoshop, it make thing easier. And with the spec; Intel core 2 duel EXTREAM, it make thing run faster. currently my macbook pro is running out of space, and i think it's time for a upgrade to IMAC!
And to make production faster, using a wacom tablet really save time. Im going to use it soon or later, so Just invest on it!

Interactive Media in singapore is growing, government is willing to heavily invest in this area. this means that, as a interactive media designer, we got a good career prospect ahead!..

Don't know why and how come, i've decided to join this marathon. And YES!, got to start to train up and build up my body. not just making it easier of SAF, but to build up body shape!
And the next thing i have to worry, is my sport attire, gosh! i just thought of that.

Adobe Workshop

Well, recently i have fallen in love with adobe workshop, it never fail to WOW me.

They have everything, from adobe photoshop, illustrator, flash, aftereffects, dreamweaver, bridge to lightroom. Everything u need as a designer!

Typography. Personally, i like this. It shows the "Chinese heritage" of Singapore, yet represented in a modern way. hmm... anyway, it's just another project in school. Perhaps one day, Singapore Tourism Board will consider this as their brochure, and I will earn big bucks!

Oh ya, talking about earning big bucks!

I used to work in Macdonald, and the pay sucks! It's like less than $3/hr. than i started working in sales bussiness; about $50/day (and u are like working damn hard to earn that amount). And after, i work for a month, in Motorola factory as operator from 11pm to 7.30am, for $7/hr.
Well, I've been selling my time, my youth away for like $7/hrs. And where do those money went to? seriously i cant remember a thing but the ** working experience.
Ok!, i just want to say that. there are a few type of career; Selling your life(working by timing, per hour), Selling your talent(Your ideas, and skills), and lastly "sleeping also earn money" (People working for you).

And recently, I've been doing some freelance work. I'm really glad that, its not time consuming, and most importantly you earn more.

Let's compare:

Working in Motorola's factory = $7/hrs
Freelance (selling your talent) = $113/hr (after much calculation)

That is how much my talent worth for a web designer. And ofcourse in the future, I'll want to move to the next level of working class, "sleeping also earn". haha

I wanted to find out the differences between visual communication, interactive media design. In the past, Temasek Design school doesn't not offer any media related subject, however as technology improved, it has created a new platform (digital media) for designer. And in this case the design world has separated into 2, digital media and print media.
Let's compare the market of digital and print media.
Print Media
print media has existed since the very beginning of paper invention, and it has been use for advertisement, newspaper, and product packaging.
